About Me

I have had a passion for music since I was a kid taking guitar lessons with my dad. From there I learned trumpet and french horn, and spent a summer teaching myself clarinet and saxophone.

I’ve learned a lot about teaching thanks to my younger sister. She has taught me how to approach a topic from many different angles to help reach a specific audience, while staying calm and collected.

Performing in a jazz combo setting is my favorite because of the close musical relationships it can help build. In a combo, every member is required to listen to one another and also respond like one would in a conversation. This type of collaboration cannot be recreated in another type of ensemble.

I am currently pursuing a music degree at the University of Utah. I am dedicated to improving myself as a musician while showing others how wonderfully exciting learning music can be.
